Faith Wasson is currently pursuing her Masters of Music in Flute Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music studying with William Dowdall and piccolo with Patricia Morris. She graduated with honors from Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance where she simultaneously earned a Bachelor of Music in flute performance and a Bachelor of Music in Music History studying under Loren Lind of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

In addition, Faith has studied with Forough Karimi at the Universitat fur Musik (Vienna, Austria) and with Jeffrey Khaner and Mimi Stillman at the Curtis Insitute of Music Summerfest (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). She has received masterclass instruction from renowned flutists Sir James Galway, Marina Piccinini, Julietta Curenton, and David Kramer.

Her professional experience includes playing principal flute with the Lyric Opera Ireland, Blackwater Valley Opera Festival, SinfoNua Orchestra (Dublin, Ireland) and Ashdod Symphony Orchestra for the Varna International Opera Festival (Varna, Bulgaria). Recent chamber music performances include Glasshouse, a Dublin based contemporary music ensemble and her woodwind quintet.

Touring internationally, Faith has performed in various chamber and orchestral programs including the Esker Festival Orchestra (Dublin, Ireland), Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival (Sicily, Italy), the Trentino Music Festival (Mezzano, Italy), the IES Abroad Music Workshop (Vienna, Austria) and Philadelphia International Music Festival.

Composer Daniel Dorff remarked of Faith's interpretation of his Sonata (Three Lakes), "Your musical story-telling through expression and pacing was outstanding, both in your understanding and lyrical interpretation of the sonata, and in your powerful communication to the rapt audience."

Faith has been the recipient of various awards and honors including as a finalist in the RTE NSO Concerto Competition and the first place winner for overall instrumental performance at the ASCI East Coast Competition. In addition, she won the opportunity to participate in a side-by-side with Camerata Ireland and perform in the RTE NSO mentoring scheme. She was granted both the Boyer College Gladfelter Scholarship for outstanding performance, and the Temple University Creative Arts and Research Scholarship Award.

Faith has performed at the National Concert Hall (Dublin, Ireland), Kimmel Center for Performing Arts (Philadelphia, PA), the Temple Performing Arts Center, the Palais Corbelli (Vienna, Austria), the Temple at Agrigento (Sicily, Italy) and other popular venues as both a soloist and chamber musician.

Faith is a dedicated performer and educator and has worked at the Elite Music Academy as private music instructor as well as served as a mentor at the Philadelphia Festival of Young Musicians. She currently teaches junior students at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and privately at her home in Dublin, Ireland.
